The team
Kalastor Net is not a single firm with a single roster. It is a network of independent senior consultants, vetted individually, staffed per mission, and met by the client before commitment. This page explains how that model works in practice.
How we staff engagements
Most consulting firms staff engagements by availability: who is on the bench, who finishes a project next week, who has hours to bill. We staff engagements differently.
For each brief we receive, we identify the 2-3 independent senior consultants in our network whose specific track record matches the problem. We have already worked with them on prior engagements, validated their references, and assessed the human qualities that determine whether a complex consulting mission succeeds. You then meet them, validate the fit yourself, and pick who runs the mission.
The result: every engagement is staffed by someone whose actual experience matches the problem, not someone whose calendar happens to be open. The trade-off: we cannot guarantee instant availability. A bench is convenient; specificity is not. We choose specificity.
How we vet consultants
Every consultant in our network has been:
- Met in person and worked with directly on at least one prior engagement
- Reference-checked against multiple past clients and at least one peer they have worked alongside
- Verified for technical depth via working artefacts (code, audit reports, strategy deliverables) rather than slide decks
- Assessed for the soft skills consulting actually requires: written clarity, calibrated confidence, the ability to disagree without becoming destructive, the discipline to write things down
We do not maintain a "preferred supplier list" we accept on trust. Every consultant has been worked with personally.
How you meet them
For every brief, the process is:
- Brief us — email contact@kalastor.net with one page describing what you want to achieve, the constraints, and who needs to be involved
- 30-minute call — we ask clarifying questions and confirm fit before recommending anyone
- 2-3 consultant introductions — written summaries of the candidates we recommend, with their background and prior relevant engagements
- Direct conversations — you meet each candidate yourself (30-60 minutes each). Ask anything; we are not in the room
- Your choice — you pick the consultant whose chemistry and depth match your mission. We finalise terms and start
You can decline all candidates and we will look further. The right consultant is more important than the fast consultant.
What our consultants share
The network is intentionally diverse — different backgrounds, geographies, primary languages, and technical specialisations. What unites them:
- Senior practitioners — typically 10+ years of operating experience in their field, often with leadership roles at well-known firms before going independent
- Bilingual or trilingual — English plus at least one of Arabic, French, or another MENA / European language. Most are comfortable in three
- Independent — they work for themselves, not for Kalastor. We are the introduction; the working relationship is between you and them
- Writers — every consultant in our network can produce a clear written recommendation. This is rarer than it sounds; we filter for it
Featured consultant profiles will land here as we publish them. The full network is considerably larger than the public-facing roster will be; many of our consultants prefer to stay non-public for client-confidentiality reasons. If you want to see specific backgrounds relevant to your mission, email us.
